Cookie season...here's to the weekend

Hi Friend,

It’s Christmas cookie and sweets season, and this year we’re ALL in on the baking. We’re planning to do lots of cookie baking as a family (I have 10 cookies/sweet treats on my list) and we’re starting to think about our Christmas cookie boxes!!

Theme of the week: Christmas cookies

Sugar cookies that actually hold their shape

This gingerbread cut out cookies recipe is a great one to make with kids. My favorite part about these cookies is that they have a nice flavor but are not overpowering.

Here are the animals cut out shapes

Holiday cookie tin

How we make our family holiday cookie tins - each family member gets to pick a cookie and then we write a note

Sugar cookies that actually hold their shape

These cookies that I’m sharing with you are my go-to, my no-fail recipe for sugar cut out cookies that actually hold their shape.

Sea salt turtle cups

So easy and delicious, I make these every year!

Peanut brittle without a thermometer!

You'll love how easy this recipe is!

Eggnog Christmas Cookies

A festive and delicious holiday cookie that everyone is sure to love.

Butterscotch cornflake clusters

I've been making these cornflake clusters since I was a child. They're so easy, they even made it into my 5 ingredient cookbook! This is a great one for the kids to help out with.

And they're no bake!

Raspberry filled vanilla sandwich cookies

These are one of my all time faves, and I love that they are best made a week ahead of time and stored in a cool dry place so you can get a head start!

Seasonal snack mix

This seasonal snack mix is so fun because it can be made for almost any holiday. All you have to do to make it festive is switch out the colors of the M&Ms!

It makes a great food gift!

Peanut Butter Banana Fudge And Caramel Pretzel Bites

This fudge is amazing and only 5 ingredients.

These caramel pretzel bites are a labor of love but so worth it.

Both make great food gifts. Here is a food gift roundup

On the blog this week

This weeks Love List I share a lot of TV things and a cute holiday romance audiobook with dreamy accents! Also a delicious holiday treat and a little tool I always have on hand around the holidays

Caprese skewers

When it comes to crowd-pleasing appetizers, caprese skewers are in a league of their own. Not only are they beautiful to look at, but they’re also ridiculously easy to make—no cooking required!

Whether you’re hosting a dinner party, a holiday gathering, or a casual get-together, these bite-sized treats are guaranteed to disappear in no time.

Personal Stories

This past week we went to see a drive-through lights display for Nicks work family Christmas party. It was lovely, Frankie falls asleep every year. this year all 4 fell asleep by the end lol. Over the weekend I took Frankie to the Nutcracker, I hadn't seen it since I was a kid, it was good, Frankie enjoyed it, boy was it long lol. Then the kids had Serbian dance, and that rounded out our busy weekend!

Links I'm loving

2 links I'm loving this week:

  • This sweatshirt, wow, most comfy cozy amazing sweatshirt I've ever owned! I'm going to buy it in multiple colors.
  • This was a such a cute Christmas romance, it says it's book 2 in the series but I didn't know that going in and it wasn't a problem at all.

Reader Comments and Recreations

I love seeing your recreations and hearing your feedback, thank you!

Thank you so much for the great recipe! This is exactly the cookie I was wanting! I love that that you, mix, roll, cut! No chilling the dough for hours! Putting them in the freezer before baking works like a charm! Thank you Thank you!!
