Your Christmas Menu...here's to the weekend

Hi Friend,

It’s the week before Christmas, how are we doing? We're over here calendar chuck full of holiday events (breakfast with Santa, Christmas train, school concert, Church Christmas play, theme days for school). It's such a special time, truly magical if you have little kids. Today I'm sharing some Christmas menu suggestions, whether it's for a breakfast or dinner, or even a food gift! Hope you enjoy.

Theme of the week: Christmas menu

Caprese Skewers

These are festive and so easy to make, they're a no bake appetizer and are perfect for dietary restrictions because they're naturally gluten free!

Here are the red bead skewers

White bean and artichoke dip

This dip is always a hit, it's cheesy deliciousness. It only has 5 ingredients. sometimes I'll add spinach if it's for a health conscious crowd!

Cheddar bacon ranch pinwheels

These are always such a hit, and you can arrange them into a Christmas tree and make a star out of cheddar cheese

Cottage cheese dip

OMG this high protein dip tastes like ranch dip, but is healthier. It's sooooo yummy, highly recommend.

Christmas pull apart bread wreath

This Christmas pull apart bread wreath is the perfect appetizer for the center of your holiday table. It’s easy to make, and great for feeding a group.

Prime rib with Yorkshire puddings

Such a decadent meal we make on Christmas eve, this recipe walks you through how to make it

Oven baked pork roast with an orange brown sugar glaze

This recipe is perfect if you're looking for something family-friendly for a special dinner

Slow cooker cheesy potatoes

Only 5 ingredients in this delicious crowd-pleaser, and you're freeing up oven space!

Stuffing stuffed mushrooms

This is a recipe we've been making since I was a kid, it's easy and perfect for holiday meals!

Hot chocolate cupcakes

Festive and so delicious, everyone will love these cupcakes. You can change the sprinkle colors!

Chocolate cake with cinnamon whipped cream

This cake is sparingly light and fluffy, so delicious

Red Wine Brownies

Why not show up with a bottle of wine and brownie mix?

Add a splash of wine to the brownies and then have the rest to drink.

These brownies are so decadent and make a great food gift, I've included labels in the post.

Snowman pancakes

I love pancakes for breakfast because they can be made ahead and frozen! Then you can just heat and decorate when you're ready.

Gingerbread muffins with cream cheese frosting

A cozy muffin everyone will love and perfect for mornings with cup of coffee.

Graham Cracker Houses

Looking for a fun project to do with kids? Might I suggest these fun graham cracker houses? They're cute and made with food glue (that actually holds!)

On the blog this week

This weeks Love List I share some great winter boots, the color of the year for 2025 and surprisingly cute holiday movie.

Kranzkuchen – A German Almond and Raisin Bread Wreath

OMG this one is good you guys! If you’re looking for a show-stopping centerpiece for your next brunch or afternoon coffee gathering, let me introduce you to Kranzkuchen, a German almond and raisin braided bread wreath.

Personal Stories

What a fun (and busy time) of year! I took a glass ornament making class with my sister in law at Soul Fire studio and it was so fun! The kids had breakfast with Santa and a train ride too.

Links I'm loving

2 links I'm loving this week:

  • My parents are German and I grew up in Chicago where there's a lot of ethnic bakeries so I got to enjoy treats, but now as an adult, I want to make some of the recipes at home. Enter Classic German Baking. I am LOVING this cookbook. I've made several recipes this holiday season and they're all so spot on and perfect.
  • Painters tape - I got some painters tape and I'm using tape to shape a tree and then the kids will paint inside it, and we'll give that as Christmas cards to teachers (with Target gift cards inside) and then the kids use the leftover tape to make 'roads' all through the living room and zoom little hotwheels around the tracks, it's cute, and an inexpensive game that keeps them occupied.

Reader Comments and Recreations

I love seeing your recreations and hearing your feedback, thank you!

Your Cottage Cheese Dip is my new favorite dip. I brought it to a family party, and it was a huge hit.
